Breast feeding/bottle Question
I plan to breast feed as much as possible, and only pump for the occasional feeding done by my husband. I'm trying to get the Medella Freestyle pump covered by my ins thanks to the posts under resources for moms on this site, but does it matter what kind of bottles I get...do they have to be compatible with the pump?
Any recommendations for bottles or nipples so the baby wont be confused??
Im totally clueless about this, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

Re: Breast feeding/bottle Question
You can pump into the Medela bottles and then transfer to any kind of bottle you like. We had luck with the Dr. Brown's bottles but I know a lot of BFing mom use the Tommy Tippee or whatever they are called bottles LOL

Re: Breast feeding/bottle Question
Its up to you. You can get the same brand of bottles or you can transfer milk to another one. All Medelas are compatible with their brand of bottles. I have a Medela PISA and I used the Medela bottles that came with it. I liked that I could just attach a nipple to the bottle and just feed right away. It is true that DC can get attached to certain nipples your best bet is to buy just one bottle of the brands you like so you don't end up with tons of bottles you won't use and see how DC likes that one.
After DS stopped nursing and went to formula I bought the 8 oz bottles and wide flow nipples. I plan to use the same bottles for this

Re: Breast feeding/bottle Question
I pumped into the medela bottles. Then transferred them into milk storage bags, labeled them with the date, and stored them in the freezer.
When I would want use one I'd take it out, defrost it in warm water, and transfer it into a Playtex drop in.

Re: Breast feeding/bottle Question
I breastfed for a year. I pumped into the medela bottles/bags and then fed DS with dr brown wide nipple bottles. DS had no confusion and I loved those bottles. I nursed most of the time but did bottles for when we went out or when I went out.
