breast feeding mommies...
i have to go out tomorrow for the first time since having dd..(she'll b 1 week tomorrow) i'll be out for approximately 5 hours to go to a doc appt and to look at a new car.. how much milk do you think i should express for dd? if i nurse her right before i leave? she normally nurses every 3 hours, but she'll be with my mom tomorrow on a bottle.. i'm trying to get at least 8 oz to leave.. If what i leave behind runs out and dd gets fussy my mom wont' think to call me home, she'll just give her some formula which i do NOT want..
would 8 oz be enough for a 5 maybe 6 hour separation?

Definitely. My DD is 5 mnths and only takes 6 oz. I don't know how much she took at that age since I didn't give her a bottle until about 3-4 weeks but at that time, I think it was 3-4 oz.

Take a manual pump for just in case you get engorged. I could not go that long myself.
