Breast Pump not covered by Insurance
I called my insurance carrier, Cigna, and they told me that they do not cover pumps. My friend used Edgepark and she said that even when her insurance told her they don't cover it, Edgepark still got it for her.
Has anyone had this experience with Edgepark?
If so, when you called them for the first time did you tell them up front that your insurance didn't cover?

Mine wasn't covered either. I had GHI at the time. Put it on your registry and if no one buys it for you, use the completion coupon discount.

Most will say they dont....call edgepark and have them try. They got my doc to say it was a medical necessity and got 90 percent covered. It was funny, doc called me and was like...what's wrong, I'm like nothing....he's like inverted nipple? I said sounds good to me!

Re: Breast Pump not covered by Insurance
i called both my insurance compnay, my DH's insurance company (which is my secondary) and Edgepark and no luck for me. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. At this point I haven't registered for one and am thinking I might just wing it and see how it goes trying to BF in the hospital first.

Re: Breast Pump not covered by Insurance
Thanks ladies! I will give Edgepark a call again and see if they can get somewhere with them. They told me that they don't cover unless it's for.....and listed a bunch of reasons that I'm hoping I will not run into.
I put it on my registry as well. I told DH that if worse comes to worse I'll see about renting one at first and if BF works well for me I will then go and buy it.
Ladies who used Edgepark, how long before your due date did you call them? Did you tell them that you were due sooner than you were, or did you give them the actual due date?
Thanks again!!!
