Breast Pump Question for late 3rd Trimester Moms...
Do you have to wash the breast pump before using it? Its still in the box and i was wondering if I have to do this? Also are you bringing the breast pump with you to the hospital. I heard that you dont really have to b/c they have them there already.

I am not opening mine until I plan to start using it. Once the box is opened- you cannot return it. IF, for whatever reason I am unable to breastfeed, I'll return it.
At the hospital I'm delivering at, there is one in every room.

I'm doing the same thing. The hospital where I am delivering rents them so I want to make sure I can breastfeed before I open up ours.

The have them at the hospital hence why I'm not buying one until I know the breastfeeding bit will work out. I would keep yours in the box till you get home; I've never seen breast pump listed on any hospital bag lists as something to worry about having.

Def don't open the box until your ready. You won't be able to pump anyways until your milk comes in which is 3-5 days after baby's birth, even then you should try to solely nurse for at least 2 weeks to get your supply in. Some women do pump though as soon as their milk comes in though. It depends what your intentions with bf'ing are-solely pumping or pumping so someone else can feed baby when you are not around.
For the first time use, I sterilized the horns and bottles-anything that milk will touch-after that I washed it in hot/soapy water.

That's what I am doing. Renting first then see how it goes.
