Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I pump 4x a day & have been getting about 8-10 oz. per sitting; however I've been taking fenugreek for a bit.

DS is 6 months old. He's drinking 32 oz. a day.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I pump 4-5 times a day. In the morning, I get 8 oz., and the rest of the day I get about 4 oz. per session. I pump for about 10-15 minutes. My DS is 9 m/o.

I used to get a lot more, but ever since AF returned, my supply has tanked, even with fenugreek. Luckily, since DS is on solids, he only takes about 20oz. per day, so it's enough.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

During the week I try ( and usually do) pump every 3 hours. During the weekend it's much more difficult... I usually only pump 4 times on the WE.

I usually get 10 oz in the morning ( 11-12 on a really good day!) and then 4.5-5 oz. every 3 hours after that.

I vary a lot though depending on my eating that day, if I drank enough water, even stress and amount of sleep I get will affect my supply.

If I double pump my session is 20 minutes.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

OMG. I get SOOO much less than thatChat Icon I have to pump 3 times to get the 9 oz that he takes each day at day care. I pump about 15 minutes each time. I get 4-5 the first time, then 2oz each other time. It is SOOO frustrating!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon But, honestly, I am so bad at drinking water and DS is such a little porker that I guess I shouldn't worry! Ds is almost 6 months.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I pump for 15 minutes with a double electric pump.
I pump 5-6 times a day(every 4 hours or so) and usually get around 10 ounces per pump. I've been sick for the last few days and have only been getting about 5-6 ounces per pump, which just about feeds DS. He is taking in around 32 ounces/day.
ETA: DS is almost 4 months old

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I pump 3x at work and get about 4 oz each time. Each session is 15 mins.

I pump just enough for DD for the next day... i picked up mothers milk tea at GNC today so im going to start that tomorrow and see if it increases my supply.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I pump 4x per day at work and once at night. I get 4 oz in the morning and 2 oz every time after that for a total of approx. 12 per day. DD is 9 months and gets 3 6 oz bottles at daycare, one of which is formula. I never had a huge supply but it's been going downhill since DD started ramping up on solids. Looking at all these huge amounts on here makes me jealous - I've had to fight for every ounce since day one Chat Icon

But very happy I'm still BF'ing nonetheless!

ETA I pump for 15 mins at a time but it wouldn't matter if I pumped for 5 or 30 - it's all out very quickly and I never get a second letdown... oh well.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

M-F I pump at 4:45AM for 15 mins and get about 3-4 oz total (this is after I nurse at 4:30AM). Then I pump at work between 10:30-11AM and again between 3:30-4PM and for about 20 mins per session and get anywhere from 7-10oz total for both sessions. When I can, I'll pump again when I get home but I don't have a lot of time.

Ann is 4 months and she takes five 4oz bottles between daycare and when DH is home with her before I get home. I nurse her 2-3 times from when I get home until the morning ...

ETA: I started taking fenugreek about two weeks ago, I eat two packs of oatmeal for breakfast M-Thu and drink a 32oz bottle of gatorade in addition to filling/drinking that bottle twice with water.

My supply has DEFINITELY gone down since I went back to work (but only significantly in the past 3-4 weeks) and took another dip after I got my first PP period the same weekend I had a plugged duct! Chat Icon

Last week we started adding 1 oz of formula per bottle Chat Icon

And I depleted my freezer stash ... I think I have five 5oz baggies from early October.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

to be honest it really depends on alot of factors... how old dc is, are you eping or doing it in the inbetween..

when ds was first born i pumped every 2-3 hours (even at night) and pumped between 50-60 ounces a day (without supplements besides oatmeal)

at 3 months pp i dropped it down to every 3-4 hours and was still pumping 50 ounces

by 6 months pp i was pumping every 5-6 hours and was pumping 35 ounces a day

i always pumped for 15-20 minutes, i never really did timed pumps, i would pump until the tap was dry...

i always pumped throughout the night because if i slept through the night even once my supply would plummet

I pump about 15-20 minutes...however, lately I've only been nursing DS 1x a day; so I'm "exclusively" pumping

I feel the same way!Chat Icon I can get a small second let down if I switch the pump to the fast mode and let it stay on that mode for a few cycles.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

I had twins so keep that in mind. At my height of pumping I was producing 18 oz per pump. I had to pump for a long time to get that though and my sessions were anywhere from 20-30 minutes. I had a flow that never stopped-it woul slow but never fully stop. I saw a bi increase after I started taking More Milk Plus tincture which has had mixed results on here. Worked for some and not others. Fenugreek did not help me.

Re: BREAST PUMPING MOMS

Well DD is going to be 5 mos on the 15th.. I pump 4x per day I get from 3-5 oz per session.. 20-30 min! She will only take my breast early in the am when dream feeding so I am exclusevly pumping the rest of the day,, I also supplement 6- 10 oz of formula perday. I feel like I am fighting for every drop here also. its so frustrating.. I tried beer and I thought it helped alilttle but certainly not enough so pumping from 16- 20 oz is just not cutting it. I need supplemments.. I am going to the vitamin shoppe today to see what to get! Thanks for all your responses..
