Breastfeeding and supplementing question
So DD finally learned how to latch but we are still supplementing (until the LC appt where she will get weighed before and after to see what she is getting)
How do I know when to feed this baby if we are supplementing? I am so lost. I feel like I don't even know when to feed her.
I nursed from 6:30 - 7:30 then gave her a 3 oz bottle which she spat up some (I guess she was full). I nursed her again at 10:30AM until almost 12 and gave her a 3 oz bottle. Now it is 3:30 and she is snoozing and I am debating on whether or not to wake her or pump.
I feel so helpless like I can't even feed my baby correctly

Re: Breastfeeding and supplementing question
Iif she spit up the formula it might mean she was satisfied on BF alone which is great! I would try to wake and nurse her if you're unsuccessful then by all means pump.

Re: Breastfeeding and supplementing question
Does she look for more after you BF? If not then I would stop giving her the formula. If she is sleepin I would let her sleep and pump and if she happens to wake up after you pump then I would give her the formula.

Re: Breastfeeding and supplementing question
I still supplement even though I think she may be getting enough milk from me mostly. I usually supplement in the evening when I think my supply is the lowest. If she takes the bottle and seems to be sucking it down, then she probably needs it.
I would pump if she is sleeping for more than two hours.
