Breastfeeding Class
Just took a Breastfeeding Class at LIJ. DH and I learned so much more than expected.
I wanted to suggest that where ever you are delivering or taking classes that you sign up for a class on breastfeeding if it's what you plan to do.
I went into it thinking how much can we learn...put baby to boob, milk flows. Yes this is true but I learned about positions, mistakes, signs of trouble, how to treat certain things, and that it wont' be easy, but will get easier. We are now going into this more prepared that I thought we needed to be.

Re: Breastfeeding Class
I took one on Sunday, and feel the same way. Very informative and worth the money. there is so much that i didnt know for something that is "natural".

"real" life is different. I first thought that it would be a "waste" of money and that I would not need a LC but in the end, this is the best advise I was given. Get all the help you can get on BF. This is REALLY hard and demanding.

Re: Breastfeeding Class
In additiona to taking a class, I recommend finding a lactation consultant in your area. The best money I ever spent (that was actually covered by my insurance!!!) was toward my LC.
