Breastfeeding: only 2 sessions a day for an extended period?
With DD I nursed her for 8 months, I stopped just as summer began because I knew I wanted to be finished. The last time I nursed her I cried but I didn't regret stopping.
With DD2 we are almost 8 months and I am on the fence about stopping. We are down to morning and bedtime only, some days I wish I could "sleep in" a little bit (especially if its been a rough night) I rarely pump anymore and if I do I am not getting nearly as much as I did as to when we were full time, not even enough to fill a bottle.
I will also be going back to work in September so part of me wants to keep it up since I will be away from her all day.
I have been going back and forth about stopping for weeks now! LOL
Has anyone dropped to just 2 or even 1 session a day for an extended time? Thanks in advance!

I'm not there yet, but I was wondering the same thing.

Re: Breastfeeding: only 2 sessions a day for an extended period?
I stopped pumping at work at 11 months. (I had enough of a stash where he got 2 bottles of BM until 12 months and one bottle a day of BM for a few months after that). I continued to nurse morning and night + naptime on weekends. Then eventually just morning and night until about 22 months maybe when we cut back to just mornings. We came close to weaning around 24 months and skipped a few days here and there but DS got sick and I went back to nursing a little more often. We truly weaned at 27.5 months (I had been nursing a few mornings a week at that point). Once I stopped pumping it was a pleasure although I did want to sleep in! We've been weaned since early Dec and I almost never get to sleep in even now.

Re: Breastfeeding: only 2 sessions a day for an extended period?
Not too much of an extended time, just for about 3 months. I got sick of pumping at work so I just stopped when DD was 8 months old. I nursed her first thing in the morning and then nursed her again at bedtime. It didn't cause a problem. Maybe I was a little swollen at work for the first day or two? But I didn't "leak" or anything. I didn't have any problems when I cut out the AM feedings either, or when I stopped BF'ing altogether when she turned 1. But then again I was lucky and my body was always very adaptable - I never had problems dropping sessions, or even adding one or two in during Spring Break, etc. (I'm a teacher).
