Getting a period while breastfeeding?
DS is almost 12 weeks and we've only started to move him over to formula (he's still nursing but we've introduced more formula into his diet in anticipation of weening) and I got my period today. I thought I wouldn't get it until I stopped nursing. Anyone else get their period while still nursing?

I did, when we cut back alot and alternated with Formula I got it lightly, and that is when I had to chang BCP also.

I BF for 8 months and I gave 1-3 bottles of formula a day the whole time. I got my period back at 6 months.

I EBF DD until 6 months when she started eating solids. We never used formula. I got my period at 5 months PP and got pregnant at 11 months pp, stll nursing.

I nursed for 6 weeks & then exclusively pumped 4-5x a day & still got AF at 4 months PP

Once your hormones drop it triggers AF to return. Introducing formula and cutting out feedings brings it back quicker than EBF. I did EBF all 3 kids and I got AF at 7 months when Emma started cutting out night feedings, 13 months when Jeremy became a lot more actuve and didn't want to nurse and 15 months with Lukie when he became more active as well.

I EBF and AF showed for the first time at 8w PP and has been a steady companion monthly since then.

Total myth. I nursed DD#1 for 16mths. Got my period after 6mths of her birth. It comes when it comes.

I did this time, it wasn't heavy but I had it for a week so I knew it must of been my first period. I'm EBF too!
I didn't get my period back after I had Julia till 6 months PP and it was HEAVY!!

Yes, I got it when DS was eight months old.
What I have read is that you can get it once DC is no longer EBF or if s/he starts STTN. (Cut there are still women who get it while EBFing.)
Since you have introduced formula, your DC is no longer EBF.
