Breathable bumpers question.
I want to get these for Paige's crib. The last few days her face was right up against the bumper and this morning I got really scared because she slept later than normal and when i looked at the monitor her face was against the bumper again. Thank god she was alright.
Anyway, it seems as if they arent really cushiony. BTDT moms, did your DC bump their heads a lot on the crib without the extra padding from the regular bumpers.
Im defintely gonna get these because im so nervous about SIDS but i dont want her to hurt herself either.
What are your thoughts about breathable bumpers? Like them or no?

Re: Breathable bumpers question.
I have a breathable bumper and I like it...since mikayla is a rolling fool now I saw her one day trying to roll over in her crib...she ran out of crib and wound up with her face right near the bumper and she was fine.....

Re: Breathable bumpers question.
I don't think they can be cushiony because they have to be breathable, so I guess they could technically still bump their head. But I don't think they could have enough force themselves to actually hurt themselves. The major advantage of the bumpers is so their little arms/legs don't come out, but you don't have to worry so much about SIDS, so they're a great compromise bumper. I never had any bumpers b/c of the SIDS worry, but if there is a next time I think I will get these.

Re: Breathable bumpers question.
We have the breathable bumpers. Keeps arms, legs and pacifiers inside the crib.... They can't bump their heads hard enough to cause any problems. If they were able to bang their heads that hard, a regular bumper wouldn't do much, either.....

Re: Breathable bumpers question.
I just got these and although DD isn't rolling over yet, I think the tradeoff of a couple of bruises or bumps is much better than the idea of suffocation by a padded bumper.

Re: Breathable bumpers question.
I would never use anything else. DD gets bruises & bumps on her head all the time from crawling, standing up & falling over, etc. so I'm not too concerned about the crib. I can't imagine she would roll over so hard & quickly that she'll hurt herself. You made a good choice!
