Breathing funny while eating or drinking??
I am starting to think something is wrong with DS and maybe I should take him to an ENT. My mom always tells me he breathes heavy. I notice lately he always sounds congested and when he is eating or drinking, inbetween sips or bites or right after he swallows, he breathes in heavy through his mouth almost like he was holding his breath. I dont know if it's b/c he can't breathe through his nose or if he's not breathing while he's chewing or swallowing his drink. My mother said she thinks I should get his adenoids checked.
Does anyone else's DC do this?

My DD did this when she had a cold/cough and ear infection last week. Her congestion cleared up so she's not doing it now. Maybe take your DS to the ped and see what she/he says first? Has this been going on for a long time?

My DS used to do this, actually since he was a toddler. He had his adenoid (and tonsils) out and no longer has an issue.

same for me with DS...since the surgery he is completly different and he gained weight because he ate more for awhile because he can actually breathe. I would get him checked out...It doesn't hurt.
