Breech Babies

In the past 6 weeks I've had 3 sonograms. In 2 of the 3, the baby was breech. Does anyone know if babies just change position often (there's still room for him to swim around) or if this means he's more likely to be breech at birth?

Re: Breech Babies

I actually just had a sonogram yesterday and she is breech. I get them every week/two weeks and she has been in different positions recently (sometimes breech, sometimes head down). My doctor said there is still plenty of time for her to turn around (although for me it really doesn't matter b/c she is going to be delivered via c-section anyway).

Re: Breech Babies

I heard that after the 36th/37th week there is a very slim chance that the baby will turn around...so I think your safe until then.

Re: Breech Babies

Mine was breech at the last sono. I think they sit like that because there is more leg room. Supposedly they turn around during the last 2 months, hopefully.

you're okay, babies can turn until late third trimester. if yours doesn't, the OB may be able to turn the baby, although i've heard mixed reviews on this procedure (as in, it's painful and not worth it). Chat Icon
