Bridal Shower Registry question - updated
My friend is registered at Store#1. Store#1 is very far from me. Store #2 is very close to me and also cheaper (cheaper to begin with plus accepts 20% off coupons). They same collection from Store #1 is at Store #2. If I buy the items from Store #2 and call Store #1 to ask them to remove from her registry, will they do it?
ETA: I just calculated the difference in cost. I can buy they whole set for: Store 1: $332 Store 2: $206
So it is a prett big difference. what should I do?

Re: Bridal Shower Registry question - updated
I would call the store and ask - they may want to see proof the items were purchased and that it's not someone messing up a registry.
I don't know how you feel about asking the FH to mark the item off on the list at the first store. Or maybe the bride's mother could help?
I know that if one my friends had the opportunity to save that kind of money, I'd love for them to do so.

I do that all the time--just tell store #1 you purchased the item and forgot to say take it off the registry. This happens to me all the time because Fortunoff's is so far away and I never want to make the trip to go there.

PEOPLE DO THIS
2 weeks after my shower, close to 3K worth of my registry at Fortunoff had been completely eradicated. Because I already had my shower and because I do not have rich relatives, I was rather suspect. It seems to be that someone (who must hate us immensely ) called Fortunoff and said "I bought this stuff someplace else for them, please take it off their registry" under the guise of a corporate/group gift. The person who did this, did not leave a contact name, just he name of a corporation. We never got the stuff. Needless to say, Fortunoff reinstated all of the "purchased" things.
It was a little scary that someone would try to be so hurtful to us. Just thought I'd share.

julz are you talking about bed bath and beyond and fortunoff?
if so, fortunoff accepts bbb coupons as long as the item is in both stores
