Bridal shower venue help - is this even possible?

I need a venue to hold 70ppl. It can really be anywhere on LI but is prefer north shore on Nassau/Suffolk border. All the girls in wedding party are young or don't have money, one is actually still in college! So I need to keep the price down to $21.95pp. Cannot go higher.

Any direction?

I'm not sure that you will find a restaurant to commit to that price. What about renting a room at a firehouse and ordering the food? You might have more control with price that way.

I had an event at Sergio's in Massapequa a few years ago and it was around $20 pp. They also work with you around alcohol.

I'm not sure how many people their private room holds though.

I did go to a party at the Seaford fire dept with catered food from Iavarone a few months ago and it was really good.

Don't know the price though, but I would guess they were on a budget.

Also when is the shower?

Could you do it in a backyard or at someone's house to cut costs? I've been to several of those as well and they were just as nice.

The only places I know for sure that can hold that many people and keep the price low are Chinese buffets. I went to a shower about a year or so ago at a Chinese buffet in Ronkonkoma, and I'm pretty sure the host paid less than $15/person. It was actually pretty nice too.

What about renting a hall? You can bring your own food and alcohol in. I've priced around for my DS' Christening and 1st bday party and that seemed to be the cheapest option.

It can't be at anyone's home, most of the party doesn't live on LI. Bride is in Brooklyn. MOB cannot or doesn't want to have that many at her house. Also trying to keep minimal work for me as I am local and cannot do all of the work. I found a few places for that price but one can do 68ppl tops. I have one other option of renting a space but soooo don't want to bc again majority of work falls on me and I have a 16mos old so it's hard w her underfoot. Thanks for suggestions I will look into those places.

I agree with looking into a hall you can rent -- a firehouse, Knights of Columbus, VFW, etc. You may be able to find a place that will give you a base price of $21.95 a person, but once you include taxes and gratuity, it will be about $6-8 more per person on top of that. I think catering trays of food/heroes would be the most cost effective and would give you more bang for your buck!

I've found that hibachi places are relatively inexpensive for parties.

Try Izumi in Commack.

Kumo in Stonybrook does them under $20 but that might be too far for you.

Ciros in Hauppauge. They have a private room and I believe catering starts at 19.95pp. We just had an event there and it was beautiful and delicious!http://www.cirosrestaurants.com/#!party-in/c4tx

Library Cafe has prices posted and they start at 19.95 pp. They are in Farmingdale, so a nice central location.

I just booked a shower at Sal's Place on Hicksville Rd in N Massapequa. They have a package that is 21.95 + tax & gratuity. That includes soda but no alcohol. $26.95+ for wine and champagne punch included. Max capacity for the room is 70. Its hard to find a reasonably priced restaurant that has a party room big enough.
