bridesmaids dress question

about how far before the wedding do you usualy get them altered?
this is the 3rd wedding i've been in, and my mom was always able to alter the dresses for me right before teh weddings, but shes super busy now, plus she lives 2 hours away...
the wedding is in 5 weeks, and i just made an appointment for next week- is that too soon? it mostly just needs hemmed, and i don't plan on loosing/gaining any weight. just wanted to see what everybody else usually does Chat Icon

No I don't think that is too soon! They would still need to do the work and have you try it on again to make sure the alterations are ok.

Re: bridesmaids dress question

That is a good time frame, you want them to get it done in time, and not have to rush them.

Re: bridesmaids dress question

for my wedding, and the one wedding i was in, the bridesmaid dresses got altered four weeks before the wedding - they were ready two weeks later just in case something else needed to be fixed.

ITA. And if at the final fitting they need to alter anything they still have time.
