bringing food thru security at NewarK??

I know the liquid rule, but can I bring sandwiches, goldfish for DD & stuff like that through security to the terminal (& on the plane) at Newark? Or do I have to buy it all at the terminal?? Thanks!

I did at Islip 2 weeks ago.

And flying home from Fort Myers they let me keep 3 Capri Suns b/c they were for DS.

I flew out of Newark two weeks ago.

I had an entire carry-on of ducks (like goldfish), crackers, cereal bars, a entire bag of cheerios... it was a snack buffet.

I had one sippy cup with milk (I forgot about it) that had to be dumped. They were nice enough not to confiscate it and let me dump it.

As long as it's "dry food" it's ok. I don't think they had a problem with it, especially since I told them it was for DC's.

ETA: They were really sticking to the 3 oz liquid rule at the three airports we used during that trip, with any and all liquids in carry-ons... sunscreen too.

I always take snacks for DD through Newark Airport- never been a problem.
