Bringing your DC to church or place of worship?
My DH and I were religious (hehehe!) church-goers since we've been married and up until DD was born. She is pretty impossible in public--especially when required to be quiet--but what year and half old isn't I guess?!
As a result, DH goes to church every Sunday while I stay home with Katherine. I wish we could go and we actually attempted to go as a family on Easter. Our church has a "quiet room" and Kate was the loudest one in there to the point where we had to leave 1/2 way through the mass--well, we gave it the college try!
So, I guess my question is...
A. Do we continue to bring her anyway so she learns what it's all about? B. Do we forget it for now and go back regularly as a family when all kids are "of age?"
Those that attend, do you have any further advice? My mom says "I always brought you guys and it was never a problem! Everyone even commented how well behaved you were." YEAH RIGHT mom!! She seems to have a very selective memory when it comes to raising her children

The church we like to attend does not, but the one closer to our house does (I think)...maybe that's the answer?

I think the family service is probably the way to go.

I would also suggest going around the time she takes her naps. We try to go to mass when it's almost time for his nap, this way I give him his bottle and off to sleep he goes.

Re: Bringing your DC to church or place of worship?
I take Jordana every Friday night to temple. Every week we go somewhere else. I have found that most places are very understanding about children. Some have family services.
The last place I went to, I kept stepping out with her when she got fussy or wanted to crawl. Three people came up to me and told me just to let her go and that they love having children there. So she crawled everywhere, even right up to the rabbi. She squealed and got very excited, and everyone was so understanding and just really happy that she was there.

try the family service.
We are lucky because our church has a nursery so DH and I are able to go and drop him off for the service. We tried taking him in with us before. Twice he was fine, the third time he was extremely fussy.

We bring her, sooner or later she will have to behave and our church welcomes children at any mass, it does have a crying room just in case. DD usually just falls asleep

Re: Bringing your DC to church or place of worship?
My DD is 2 and just recently we started going back to church and bringing her. I found the family mass doesnt work fpr us becuase once she sees other kids being loud or running around she thinks it is a free pass. Instead we go to the early mass so she is not cranky or close to a nap and I pack some small snacks (fruit snacks, raisens ect) and sometimes a small book to try to occupy her. It is a 50-50 shot if we need to leave early but at least she is getting used to it.

This is exactly what we do with Jack. He is almost 2 1/2 and he is getting much better. I used to have to take him out of mass by the first reading and now he makes it until about communion before getting out of control. So we willl just bring him every week now and he will learn to behave and I will eventually wean him off of the snacks during church.
