Supermarkets sell special 'brining bags' or use a large ziplock bag and keep it in a cooler with lots of ice.

I couldn't find the brining bag yesterday (I KNEW I shold have bought it last week!) So Renoylds makes a turkey bag (to roast in) so I am using that instead.

I never used that before. I always wonder, does that have holes in it?

no holes that I can see. I haven't put the brine in yet, so there is a possibility brining will not happen in this house.

You could also just do it in a big cooler minus the bag!

Re: Brining turkey - if you don't have a pot big enough

update: I brined it in the oven bag. The first bag got a hole in it from the turkey wing, so I just put another bag over it and all the liquid stayed in. the turkey was DELICIOUS with the brine (I used chicken stock, water, kosher salt, brown sugar, onion & garlic powders, coriander, peppercorns, dill seed, red pepper flakes and bay leaves)
