BRITAX - Marathon vs. Decathalon

As some of you may know I was in a car accident yesterday (everyone's OK) and I need a new car seat. I had the Marathon but when I went to BBB today I saw the Decathalon.

I know a lot of you gals have the Marathon (me included) and love it. Are there any reviews on the Decathalon? The salesperson said it was the same seat as the Marathon w/ additional padding. I am leaning toward this seat over the Marathon but just wondering if anyone had any feedback.

TIA

Why would you spend the extra $50 on the Decathalon if you dont need the newborn padding?

Same seat more padding that comes out and you only use for small child or newborn.. I have the Decathalon it was cheaper than the Marathon at the time

We went with the Boulevard b/c of the side impact head rest. We decided against the Decathalon b/c we would have paid for extra padding that my son is too big for.

I was just in BBB today too and asking about the difference. It is the padding, which removes to make it the Marathon. I didn't buy, but I am defintiely getting the Marathon for Lauren. She'll be too big for the padding anyway. I am buying it online too at Traveling Tikes because they prices are cheaper and no slaes tax or shipping charges.

I went to BBB and purchased a Decathalon (w/ a 10% off coupon). The insurance company is paying for the new seat.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I just wanted to add too that the Decathalon has an adjustable crotch strap, where as the Marathon doesn't. I always found that short crotch strap on the Marathon a pain, but I love everything else about it.

I have the Decathalon and LOVE IT! I never had a Marathon, so can't compare. But both I am sure are equally good.
