Brokers Can Be So Sneaky!
Maybe I'm the last to know this, but I just found out that closing costs can go up a few thousand to compensate the broker! And then on top of it, raise your interest rate to get paid more 
I thought the broker got paid by the bank now I see s/he gets from the seller too.
I was stunned when I heard that...maybe I'm just way too naive.

They do get paid by the bank. My Dh is a broker. He'll kill me for saying this but you can negotiate. Look for the lowest rate you can find from a regular bank then use that to bargain with him.

Personally - I would prefer to shop around and work with someone from a bank rather than work with a broker. I know too many people that have had bad experiences with brokers....
