You sneaky little...He did it again!!! Update 2nd page...

Once again...I'm a VERY neat and clean person...but I guess this happens when you live in a co-op.

He's back...and he's sneakier than last time.

My dh went into the kitchen last night to grab a napkin, instead he grabbed a mouse! It jumped out of his hand as he flicked on the light and he ran over the stove and squeezed himself behind it. He had eaten the brand new loaf of bread...well part of it.

So...he gets out a mouse trap and puts cheese in it. Sets it right by the oven and comes to bed. We're anxiously awaiting the *snap* sound...

15 minutes go by and he gets out of bed and turns on the light. The mouse is sitting on the oven staring back at him. He runs and hides again while my dh examines the trap. Empty...the cheese is gone.Chat Icon

So a BIGGER piece of cheese is put on the trap and my dh SWEARS that it will work this time. This morning we wake up and the trap is empty and the cheese is gone.

We will have a dead mouse tonight...

Re: You sneaky little...

Also try the glue traps...they definitely get stuck on there...although they are still alive, but at least you get them.

I had mice who were eating all the peanut butter off the traps...so we switched to glue traps with a little peanut butter on them and got them...

I HATE mice more than you can ever imagine...

Good luck!!

Re: You sneaky little...

you could try a humane trap- put some peanut butter on a craker inside the trap. When the mouse gets trapped, take it outside and let it go.
I am not really a proponent of killing animals for no reason.

Re: You sneaky little...

the cheese is a myth! use peanut butter or get the glue traps. That's how we caught the mouse in my kitchen.

Re: You sneaky little...

Peanut butter worked like a charm for us, both in the humane traps and on the glue traps.

UGHHHHHHHHHHH I hate mice!!!!!!!

Definately the glue traps..although they live while stuck on there! So gross!!!!!!!!!!! Its the worst thing in the world, I literally would not want to come home after work or go to bed at night. I would leave all the lights on at night so he wouldnt come out! OMG..I have goosebumps..good luck!

Re: You sneaky little...

My ILs are going through the same thing in their condo. My MIL is terrified, she walks around with a broom when she's home. She refuses to stay home alone....if my FIL goes out she'll either go with him or come stay out our house. Last night she asked DH to come over bc his dad was going out.

I hope you find it soon... I can't imagine being that uncomfortable in my own home.

Re: You sneaky little...

I used to work for a pest control distributor. Cheese is a myth. Peanut butter or bananas are what mice like the best. (the scent is very strong).

Although glue trap work the best, remember a mouse will do "anything" to get off. And there is nothing worse then finding a piece of the mouse and not the whole mouse.

Also if you use a catch and release method, remember that they got in once they will find there way back in so be sure release them away from you home. Take the little bugger a few blocks away or even miles to be safe.

I'm trying the peanut butter tonight. I would love to not kill him...I feel bad for him...but not when he's eating my bread.

Imagine if he would have eaten my Snickers? He would have been dead for sure..Chat Icon

Re: You sneaky little...

Don't use a tiny bit of peanut butter either. DH did that and it came and licked the trap clean and then left. You have to stick peanut butter all over the place so that it steps all over the place to get to it!
