Bronchitis in babies
DD has been sick since Sunday. Started out as a fever and now the doctor is saying its bronchitis (first time we went it was just a virus). She is so miserable, I feel awful. Today she had to have a chest x-ray which was heartbreaking. Thank goodness it wasn't pneumonia.
Anyone else's baby ever have bronchitis? How long can I expect it to take for the antibiotics to start working?

Re: Bronchitis in babies
DD had bronchitis earlier this year and had to use the nebulizer as well. It lasted about a week and once she started taking antibiotics she started feeling better within a couple of days. I remember that time clearly because DD was so lethargic for a couple of days and she slept with us while sick
many to you and hope DD feels better soon

Do you have a vick's humidifier? It may help comfort her and help her sleep at night.

Thank you She actually slept better last night than she has all week! For the first time all week, she slept through the night! Maybe the antibiotics are already starting to work

Re: Bronchitis in babies
Paige has been coughing a lot and very mucousy. Im taking her to the dr today to rule out bronchitis. I feel so bad for babies when they have to go through this. It breaks my heart.
I hope your DD feels better.

Re: Bronchitis in babies
My DD had at 4 months what the doctor call baby bronchitis or bronchiolitis. He didn't give her anything because she never had a fever. I just used saline drops for her nasal congestion. It got better within a week or so, though, the cough lasted longer. I hope your baby is better soon!
