Well, we went to the zoo yesterday - we timed it PERFECTLY...

It was POURING as we were driving in and DH and I were really worried that we were going to have to head home (we live in eastern Suffolk)...but it let up just as we got there. And it turned into a pretty nice (but HOT) day! It rained a little towards the end of our day, but we managed to get back in the car and headed back home before it poured again! Chat Icon

DD was awesome - she was fascinated by the animals and all of the people walking around (though going on an "iffy" day seemed to help as there weren't any lines except for the cafes!).

The children's zoo was great - DD played in the "turtle shell", fed a goat, looked at all the ducks and fish...she loved it!!! And the gorilla exhibit was phenomenal (though I think DH and I were even more fascinated than DD!)...

And we bought the family membership, so we can go back for free for the next year, plus we can go to the NY Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and Prospect Place Zoo. And we got 10% off food and gift shop stuff!!!

All in all a GREAT day...I will post pics tonight when I get them off the Camcorder (by the way, thank you to those who reccomended the Sony SR45...we got a great deal on it and it is WONDERFUL!)Chat Icon
