bronx zoo vs ny aquarium...

which would you do tommorow? its supposed to be 43 and nice out.

Is there much to do at the aquarium? like to make a day out of it or is it like the one in riverhead?

anything we should make sure we do if we go to either?

43 is not that warm. Lots of walking outside at the zoo.

You have to walk outside to go from building to building at the aquarium but it's mostly indoors.

I would do the aquarium.

Aquarium is a 2 hours tour "maybe" 3 hours but that's with a kid stopping at every tank for 10 minutes. I don't know if they have the sealions show this time of year.

I would do the zoo. The aquarium is NOT an all day thing. 2 hours TOPS.

I would do neither and go to a children's museum.

The aquarium is max 2 hours, even in the summer they really don't have a lot ouside.

The zoo, you will do a lot of walking but I doubt a lot of animals will be out. Maybe call and see what they say.

Bronx zoo all the way. The Aquarium is eehhh, the one in Riverhead is better.

The Bronx Zoo is open 365 days a year. There are shows and programs every day. It is my favorite.

Have fun. I will be stuck at Chuck E. Cheese tomorrow..shoot me!Chat Icon

Re: bronx zoo vs ny aquarium...

I LOVE the bronx zoo - not sure if it will be warm enough but mid 40s probably. They do close some things but there is still plenty to do.

The NY Aquarium (I haven't been to Atlantis but my friends like the NY aquarium better and have told me not to bother with Atlantis) but since we have a membership to the Bronx zoo (it includes unlimited admission to the NY aquarium, central park zoo, and the queens and brooklyn zoos) we go every so often. I like the NY Aquarium - it is mostly (85% indoors). There are about 3 small outside viewing areas and 2 of those you can see the from INSIDE so you don't have to look outside if you don't want to. 97% of the place is open all year - unlike what I hear about Atlantis. There is an outside show if you wish to see it (sea lion demonstration).

I would say it is a morning to 1/2 day - I get there when it opens and you could look around have lunch and go. There are 3 buildings but you have to walk outside to get the each one of them.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice - but if it is in the 40's I would hit the zoo.
