BRU - WWYD?
I bought a baby gate there this afternoon. I just went to put it up and when I opened the box, there were random parts from a gate that didn't even match the brand that it was supposed to be.
When I go BACK to BRU tomorrow morning, what do I do - tell them the problem and run the risk of them thinking I'm scamming them, or tape it back up and just return it? I know that taping it back up will most likely inconvenience someone else down the road, but what if they don't believe that this was the actual thing that was in the box when I opened it?
I *thought* the box felt strange even before I opened it....

Based on my experience, I would be honest about it. I got a walker there from my shower and I didn't open it until DS was 6 months. I take it out of the box and it was disgusting!!! Food & hair stuck to it  Needless to say, I brought it back that day and they had no problem exchanging it.

I would be honest..you just bought it so I really do think they will let you return it. Like you said, that will just be an inconvienence to the next person. We bought my son a table and chairs for christmas and it was missing parts and I was so annoyed!

Just tell them the truth. the last time i was there someone was returning something and they said is there anything wrong with it and the person said no and they opened up the box to make sure everything was in there. just tell them exactly what happened i don't think they will give you a problem!

Thanks girls! DH and I were going back and forth as to what to do..... 
I had actually returned a different gate this morning that didn't fit and got this one in its place. I was so excited to put it up. My big, exciting Saturday night. Ohhhhhh how things have changed.

I would tell them..since you JUST bought it ..not like you held on to it for weeks. They're usually good about stuff like that.
