BRU Policy On Coupons

I just wanted to let you all know that I went to BRU this weekend and tried to use a vendor check that someone on here sent me. BRU would not let me use it because they have a sign now that you need to show ID and if the name on the check and your ID do not match then you can use it.

That stinks. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt depending on the cashier at the registry. YOu can always try and play stupid and say, oh its my sister.

What about trying a grocery store? I never had a problem there (then again I'm not in NY though so maybe that's why).

Really??? Try the one in Massapequa - I used them all last week and I was able to without showing ID.

Re: BRU Policy On Coupons

Good to know. Thanks.
I think you use Good STart? Have you signed up on the website to get coupons? Do they send them on a timely basis? We get Enfamil ones all the time and I'm thinking of asking the ped if we can switch him to that so we can take advantage of the coupons.

I don't see why you cannot say you're the sister of the person who's name is on the coupon and she's sick and so you are doing the shopping.
It's really ridiculous that they check ID, it's not like you're going to go out and resell the stuff

Re: BRU Policy On Coupons

The BRU policy just went into effect yesterday. They have signs at each register about this. Also, I do use Good Start. I signed up at the website awhile ago and as of now I have not received any checks. I have tried some of the local stores and they don't accept them but I am going to try CVS and see if they take them with ID.

Since I had Lauren almost 7 months ago - I have NEVER been able to buy formula with someone else's checks in the Westbury BRU! I have always been asked for ID. It really stinks! I now have to buy my formula in Target because they don't ask for ID there.

Yeah, Westbury BRU is the only place ever that has asked me for ID. I had one with my mother's name and I just told them they messed up the first name. But now it sounds like they mean business.

I had the same problem at BRU in Westbury. Walmart will take them without a problem.

I don't normally shop WalMart. How's the price of formula there? Any cheaper than BRU or Target, or are they all pretty much the same $?

And I've found that BRU is cheaper than Target (at least for the powdered Good Start).

I bought the Good Start powder at BJs. I go to the one in Setauket. I don't know if they have different products at different stores.

The one in Bohemia/Sayville is really strict with ID. However, the one is massapequa has never checked.

BRU has always done this to me. If it isn't my name or DH's name on the vendor check they don't accept it. BJ's is awesome. The took 12- $1 off Good Start coupons from me the other night. Kmart & Target have been great as well............

Some of your local stores won't accept the checks at all or just the checks w/o ID? I've never had a problem at the A&P we use.

I've tried 2 CVS's up here where I live and neither carry Good Start, so just be aware CVS may not carry it at all...

I was just about to say that - I went to the Setauket one today - cause I needed formula for Ali - and they have 3 different types of the Good Start there. Maybe the different BJ's have different things.
