bryan has a boil on his leg and had a stye last week
we mistakently popped the boil (which was horrible on Bryan)becuase we thought it was a pimple and then of course, after the fact, I look it up online and it says not to pop it- that it could lead to infection, we did however, wash it out with peroxide and bandage it. We saw the dr about the stye earlier last week which they made bo big deal of and that finally popped and when away.
I am more concerned that this could be MRSA. between the stye and this there Im nervous as heck. I really hope i can get to see my ped today- if not should I go to the ER? I dont want to get all crazy but I aslo dont want to neglect this if it could be a serious staph infection..

Cover it and then take him to the doctor tomorrow as you would normally. MAKE SURE THE DOCTOR CULTURES IT for MRSA. If it comes back positive he will probably give you an oral antibiotic for 10-14 days. As long as your son is otherwise healthy, MRSA is perfectly managable.. if a little scary. Keep it covered though - you don't want him scratching, and bringing the infection elsewhere.

I agree...someone on here posted a couple of weeks ago that her son had it...I would demand that it be cultured. Also, she wrote that there is one medicine that does not work, and one that does. I hope that he doesnt have it, but def. take him to the dr.
