BTDT - particular brand of witch hazel?
Does it really matter?
Also - talk to me abut sitz baths.... Do you use regular water or are you putting saline or other solutions in it?

I never used witch hazel - just the tucks pads, which have witch hazel in them I think. I lot less messy, and the nurse suggested just laying two or three on top of the pad to wear them rather than rubbing them on or anything.
I never actually used the sitz bath they gave me at the hospital, but when my stitches weren't healing properly from the tear, my OB had me take baths with epsom salts. I'd have that in the house. I used the little peri bottles but with just plain warmish water.

You can use regular water water in a sitz bath - you add 1/4 cup epsom salts to it.
Any brand of witch hazel pads will work - I use CVS brand...my DR recommended layering them on sterile gauze and keeping in your underwear for relief - it helps.
