She didn't get all my attention all the time, but when ds was a newborn he slept a lot so she still got a lot of one on one time. As he got older they used to nap at different times so they both had one on one time with me. It all works out.

I was nervous about not having as much one on one time with her but it has been good. We still get to hang out when the little one naps. I love watching them interact and she adores her little sister so in the end it was great timing for us. I actually feel badly for the little one sometimes, she hardly ever gets one on one time.

DS1 is 3 and DS2 is 1 and I definitely have 1 on 1 time with DS1.

Yes; DD & DS are 22 months apart & when little one sleeps; DD & I have time together. I also signed up for a class for just DD & I.

She absolutely adores him too; I love watching them together.

Re: btdt- 2 under 2 moms: were you able to enjoy your first born

I have 2 under 2. I try hard to give both equal amount of attention but its hard. My older dd is 23m now and is very active and wants to jump around and play, while my younger dd is only 6m and isnt mobile on herself yet. I think once shes started crawling things are going to get really excitting and ALOT of fun. Im only one person so Im trying hard not to beat myself up about who gets more attention bc at different times of the day each gets a little more than the other bc they require it at the moment. But the real key to everything is seeing the two of them interact.. its wonderful!! I love seeing how excitted my younger dd gets when my older dd talks to her.. its like she cant wait to get up and go with her.

So dont stress yourself out about all the worrying.. it all works out. I felt the same exact way you do, I have even asked here and FMed several moms that were 2 under 2 and they too felt the same. Just remember everyone needs attention and as long as you try and meet the needs all is good!Chat Icon

DS is 22 months and DD is 1 month. this first month with 2 under 2 has been difficult because we are getting into a routine, it took me a couple weeks to recover mentally and physically from delivery, etc.

but it's definitely getting easier and i don't feel that DS is lacking for attention at all. DD sleeps most of the time, so there's not an issue.

so far DS has shown no real jealousy at all, which makes me think that he's not feeling left out or anything...

I was absolutely able to enjoy my first born when my DD arrived. Once you get into a routine it is great.

Re: btdt- 2 under 2 moms: were you able to enjoy your first born

I think my firstborn got plenty of attention. I had 3 kids within 3 1/2 yrs. I do feel bad for my firstborn sometimes bc I always expected so much of him bc he is the oldest. Then I look at old pics and I realize how small he really was (and still is in many ways)

I did enjoy him and spend time with him, but not as much as before DD was born. It was physically impossible. Being that they are under 2, they really don't remember life before the baby and adjust pretty well as compared to a 3 or 4 year old might.
