BTDT CIO Mommies - MORNING help please!
DD has been STTN since we dropped the 3 AM feeding at 6 months. She goes down around 7 and wakes up around 5:30. This has been ok for us since we work 5 out of 7 days a week. For the past few nights she's been waking up earlier and earlier (4:15 yesterday, 4:45 today) and cries inconsolably if we don't come to get her. This morning I tried going in every 5-10 minutes to comfort her and she just cried harder until I finally got her. If I let her cry for too long she is a MESS the whole morning
What could be going on and what can I do to help her sleep longer?
She is 8 months and I always check to make sure she isn't stuck or has a dirty diaper.
She's been extra clingy lately and I know she is teething but so far no teeth and she's not waking up at all in the middle of the night...
ETA: I know she is still tired and not ready to get up because she wakes up and immediately starts crying. When she is well rested she will babble for a few minutes before getting antsy to get out of there.

I would love the answer to this too. DS will go back to sleep once we pick him up at 5:30ish (sometimes 4:30) but will not CIO in his crib...he'll just cry until 6:30.

Sometimes at that age I would give him a bottle and put him back in his crib - if it was anywhere before 5am. Probably not the best habit, but at in the morning I wasn't actually thinking straight and it did the job!

Thanks ladies. I worry she is not getting enough sleep because at least when she was waking up for a feeding in the middle of the night (2-3 AM) she would go right back to sleep until 6 or 7. Now she goes down by herself and sleeps straight through but if she's up before 5 she will NOT go back to sleep.

CIO is not fun. The thing about CIO is that you have to let them cry. Checking in on them defeats the purpose. My DS has been sleeping staright through the nigiht from 6 pm to 6 am for almost 4 months now! He wasn't the hardest baby to sleep train, He really likes his sleep, so for us it only took 2 or 3 nights of CIO and that was it. I can imagine how hard it must be for mommies whose babies take weeks to sleep train! Best advice is just stick with it!!!! Eventually it works! Also I would def. pick up. "healthy Sleep habits, happt Child" it is the ebst book on sleep ever!!!

Thanks - she did great with CIO on the front end (going to bed) - a few nights of crying and that was it. That's what makes this so hard because she's already slept for a long time, KWIM? I just don't want to ruin her entire day by making her cry for an hour plus first thing in the morning, but I know she needs more sleep.

what time does she go to sleep? I notice with my son, the later he goes to bed - the earlier he wakes up. I had to move up his bedtime by a half hour last week because he was getting up between 4:45-5:30. He will now sleep to at least six.

Re: BTDT CIO Mommies - MORNING help please!
Truthfully, i hired a sleep trainer and the am's are the toughest..they are in lighter sleep at this point and they told me always keep them in there 11.5-12 hours...my DD sleeps from 7-630 and used to wake in the am with the birds...if she is waking really crying sometimes it is separation anxiety too...we CIO consistantly for 2 weeks from 7pm-7am and now here and there she will sit up around 545-6 am but i never go in before 630am and she doesnt cry. My guess is the bottle might be a bad idea unless you really think she needs it..they told me after 6 months(if they arent breast feeding) then they dont need it..but i have a healthy(LOL) big baby on my hands so i hate to tell you one way or another..but, what they told me is that is a horrible habit if you are having sleep issues...that is what i was doing and she was waking out of habit alot of the time and needed the extra sleep. Good LUck!
