BTDT Daycare moms.... baby sick?
AJ is a little over 3months and has been in daycare one week
On Friday they told us she was getting a little sick...
well yeah she's sick. Sounds like a head cold. Loose nostril mucus and a cough. She's having trouble breathing and it makes her a little crankier than normal.
They didnt SAY anything about not bringing her in.. but when hubby drops her off on Monday should he expect them to send her home?
She has no fever
PS: lovely part was when I suggested that if she's too sick the daycare 'may' not let her stay, hubby said, then what? I have to stay home? ha.... umm yes darlin silly man
So tell me do any of you know what we should expect or prepare for Monday and does ANYONE have any ideas how to comfort her... Im already using little noises, cleaning out her nose with the aspirator and have a cold air humidifier on her....

I don't think they will send her home unless she has a fever. But you need to read your paperwork/handbook from the daycare.

DD had had a cold since the day she started daycare.
They will usually only send her home if she has a fever.
If they didn't allow childeren to come in with colds there wouldn't be anyone there.

have you tried bringing her into a steamy bathroom fora few minutes? that might help clear her breathing

Re: BTDT Daycare moms.... baby sick?
I had the same exact thing. DS ws in daycare for one week and got sick. He did have a fever, but not until after I picked him up. He had a terrible cold and cough and watery eyes. As long as he did not have a fever I was able to bring him back. Luckily it happened over the weekend and his fever did go away by then. I raised his mattress in his crib, for easier breathing, gave him a few sips of water after formula to clear up mucus, and held him in the bathroom with the hot water running. I also had a cool mist humidifer. All were told to do by my doctor. Good Luck, I know it is so scary when they get sick for the first time. I freaked when it was only a cold. But you live and learn.
