BTDT Jewish Moms--two questions
Hope you don't mind me intruding again. I have two questions:
If you had a boy, who did you use for the bris?
Does your baby have "godparents"?--How did you decide who to choose?
Thanks in advance!

Re: BTDT Jewish Moms--two questions
I used one my OB's in the practice I use--Dr. Harvey Marchbein, he has a website--www.moheldoc.com
Many of my friends used Cantor philip Sherman-- www.emohel.com
I went with a doc because they are certified to use anestesia on your baby so when Jacob was cut he didn't cry one bit....
Question #2-- we don't have godparents,, it is usually not customary but I know many Jewish couples who do have them...

Re: BTDT Jewish Moms--two questions
I have a girl, so can't answer the bris question, but everyone i know used Rabbi Yehoshua Krohn. His number is 1-800-BABY-BOY.
As for G-dparents, no- that's not a Jewish tradition. I call some family friends g-dparents. They were my grandparents best friends from the old country and new my grandparents before my dad was even born. I call them g-dparents for lack of a better term.

We used Dr. Diamond also. He was very good. I'm not Jewish and was really nervous about the whole thing, but he did a great job.

Re: BTDT Jewish Moms--two questions
We were supposed to use Cantor Sherman (emohel.com) but his mother passed away 2 days before the bris. We ended up using Rabbi Krohn (1-800-baby-boy) If I have nother boy, I will try to use Cantor Sherman again (my sister used him for her 2 boys). Rabbi Krohn is more religious and the service is a little longer. Both did a great job though

Re: BTDT Jewish Moms--two questions
I used Cantor Sherman (emohel.com) and couldn't have been happier! DS hardly cried, and healed really well. He had a wonderful way with us, the guests and the service. We named DH's sister and my BIL (sister's DH) as the godparents, so that we would have one person from each of our families. DH only has one sister, and both of us are very close with my BIL. (My sister and her DH were the godparents for DD.)
