BTDT Moms - Anyone exclusively/mostly pump??
TMI but I can't standddddd anything/anyone touching my ninnies! Even pre-preg if DH went near them I hatedddd it! The idea of my on my boob kinda freaks me out & I just feel like I wil hate the feeling. I want to breastfeed though bc it's obv best for .
my question is this.... has anyone exclusively/mostly pumped & then fed their LO with the bottle?
Maybe i will feel diff once I'm actually in the situation.... but for now this is what i anticipate lol

I totally thought the same way until I realized how much I hated pumping. To me it's so much easier to bf and pump to get a freezer stash for work then to just pump. I am totally impressed by those who exclusively pump!

Re: BTDT Moms - Anyone exclusively/mostly pump??
I exclusively pumped for a year. It was miserable for me. DS wouldn't latch. So for the first 2 or 3 months, each feeding consisted of 20 mins of trying to get him to latch and skin to skin, plus another 20 minutes of pumping, plus another 20 - 40 minutes of actually feeding and burping him. When people were around they could feed him, which was nice, but either way I still didn't get a break. That in itself was frustrating because I felt like I was bottle feeding, but still having to pump every two hours.
Now with all that positiveness, I wouldn't have changed it (other than him being able to latch.)
I know someone who felt like you did and only wanted to exclusively pump. She saw me and figured if I could do it she could do it. After her DD came, she came to me and said hope your next baby latches. Breastfeeding is so much better/easier than pumping. This is from someone who did not want the baby anywhere near her boobs.
I say go into with an open mind. Whether you breastfeed or pump it will be a dedication in itself and a lot of work. After you see that baby, it may change your views and after giving it a try you may not hate it as much as you think you will. If you do hate it, you have the option to pump.
And you never know what issues may arise. Your child may not latch, you may not be receptive to pumping (not getting enough milk from pump, but baby can get it from you), etc.

Re: BTDT Moms - Anyone exclusively/mostly pump??
i had latching issues so DS was only latched for a few days.
I wanted to EP unfornately my milk dried up. My dr warned me that many women have this problem bc the pump does not express the milk as good as the baby. After a month of pumping I dried up, and most of that time was only pumping a bottle or two a day and pumping TEN times a day including the middle of the night.

Re: BTDT Moms - Anyone exclusively/mostly pump??
I have been exclusively pumping for almost 4 months. when I was prego i thought I would not want to BF, just pump. then when my twins were born bfing was all i wanted to do, but couldn't bc they were in the nicu. so I started out Epumping. I tried for 3 months to get them to latch appropriately. and now am still Epumping.
it is challenging, but doable. I strongly recommend renting a hospital grade pump. it is sooooooo much better. I would not consider using an over the counter pump at this point.

Anytime. If you have any questions feel free to ask about it. I always planned to breastfeed (it was one of those things I was set on) and never imagined pumping would be the way I would do it.
I used the medela pump in style and I do agree that if you are going to go the exclusively pumping route, you need to invest in a worthwhile pump!!!
