BTDT Moms - Anyone have a child who screams to hear himself scream?? NEED HELP!
Okay my darling Kevin now loves to scream at the top of his lungs all the time. Today we were at HICKS and he was screaming short little screams to the point that people were looking at me. So embarrassing. He's not in pain, I think he is just doing it to do it. Now my other one gets scared and statrs to cry when he screams and it is driving me and DH crazy. He is only 13 months so i am not sure how to handle it. I have screamed at him NO - that did not work. I have tried to slap his hand and say No - that does not work. We can try and ignore it but it really is bad.
Should i call my pediatrician and ask what i can do? Anyone have any advice to help DH and me. He started it about 3 weeks ago but over the past few days it has gotten bad.
Thanks

I think you have to ignore it. Telling him no and all that stuff is just going to make him do it for the reaction. Dd went through this too- we ignored it and it stopped.

Definitely ignore it. It may get worse for a while, but when he sees that he is not getting any reaction from you, he should stop.

My friend's DD does that LOUD and she said in public or at home even the only way to stop it, is to keep feeding her snacks. . She is starting to outgrow it, but his poor little brother. I know my DD goes into hysterics when my friend's daughter does it.
