BTDT Moms - Bassinet question - Graco? Other suggestions?

Hi ladies...I plan to keep the baby in a bassinet the first few months next to our bed but can't decide what to get. Has anyone used the Graco Travel Lite Crib or the Graco Pack n Play for this purpose or are they just for traveling? Did you like/dislike? Is there another bassinet you can suggest? I will be living in an apt for the first few months so I like the idea of this vs. the crib but I am clueless! Thanks SO MUCH Chat Icon

I used a bassinett and I hated it. I switched to using the pack n play with the bassinett attachment and the changing table attachment and I loved it! We used it that was for a few months!

Re: BTDT Moms - Bassinet question - Graco? Other suggestions?

My DD is still sleeping in our room in the Pack and Play at 6 months (due to health issues) - just now without the bassinet part and it has been great!

I couldn't see the point of buying a bassinet that you can only use for a few months. At the beginning you arent traveling with the baby too much, so you won't be packing up the pack and play and having to reset it again.

Some of my friends got a bassinet, and their DD was too big for it at 2 months...

Any questions, feel free to FM...

My DD used the bassinet until 3 months only. But we bought it at a consignment store used for really cheap. Now she is in the bassinet section of the pack and play since it has more room since her bedroom is far from our room. I would recommend that. The bassinet was so short lived I am glad we didn't buy it new.

We have the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper.... I absolutely love it. One side folds down and since it's level with your mattress it makes it easy to get the baby during the night for feedings. My first son slept in it until he was 7 months. And now my newborn is using it now. We have definitely gotten our $130 worth.

We have a bassinet and pack n play. She loved her bassinet. I think the pack n play bassinet was too open for her. But we will need the pack n play for when we go visit family, etc. so we really needed both.

DD hated the regular bassinet so this time around we are using the pack n play. IF he doesn't like it.....it'll be the crib or cosleeping again for us

we had a kolcraft bassinet from bbb and loved it....it looked like this...our bassinett

we liked it and so did samantha - it has the "hood' the opposite way, which was helpful plus a good mobile and soft music to lull her to sleep...she slept in there perfectly for months! she still enjoys "playing" in there now.....Chat Icon

Re: BTDT Moms - Bassinet question - Graco? Other suggestions?

I used the Eddie Bauer Wooden Bassinet. DS loved it (so did I) but it was very hard getting him to sleep in his crib in his own room afterwards. But that is an entirely different subject.

As far as pack-n-plays are concered I have 2 Gracos. The G Galore for my house...it is very sturdy and no issues folding it up and I has have a smaller one for my mom's house. I had an Evenflo prior to these that I used to travel with but after 2 trips to my mom's house it broke so I switched to Graco.
