BTDT Moms - Feeding

I'm hoping someone can help me.

DD usually has her bottle according to the following schedule:
8/9 am bottle
12ish bottle
4ish bottle
8ish bottle

and overnight, it varies depending on when she wakes up (she still wakes up once a night for feeding at 10 weeks).

Problem is, by the time, 6/7pm rolls around, she is falling asleep. The 8pm bottle is very difficult to give her. She barely eats much and is falling asleep at the bottle. Tonight, she only took two ounces and started snoring - so I put her to bed. Now I'm afraid she's going to be up even earlier to eat. How can I put her to bed at 7/8 on a full stomach without messing up the schedule too much (since she's so used to it already)?

TIA!

Re: BTDT Moms - Feeding

I BF so things may be a little different. DS is 5 months and is in bed around 7PM, it has been this way since 8 weeks when we noticed he was falling asleep at about that time.

Right now DS tends to cluster feed in the late afternoon/ early evening. He nurses at 4PM, then at 5:30 has his solids, nurses after the meal and then again at 6:45ish and down for the night.

Maybe move your last bottle to 6:30 or 7PM and try putting DD down to bed a little earlier?

I think I'm going to have to move that last bottle up to that time. But, doesn't that mess up the whole day's schedule? Or, do I feed her at 4pm and then again at 630/7 to "top her off"??

BTW, what is cluster feeding?? Chat Icon

Thanks for responding!

I don't think it would throw off her schedule. If she eats at 4 and then again at 7, that's still 3 hours between feedings. My DD is 16 weeks, she usually goes 3-4 hours between bottles. She takes an afternoon nap getting up anywhere between 5-6, lately it's been 5, she gets a bottle at that time. She is in bed by 8:15 most nights with her last bottle at 8:00pm, or even around 7:45 after her bath.

She sleeps through the night too.

I guess I will try this!!

I will just space out the last two bottles a little closer together to get her to bed when she wants to.
