BTDT Moms - what's the avg monthly cost of diapers and formula
I am a budget queen so I am just trying to put together an appx monthly for diapers and powder formula. Thanks!!

It really depends on what kind of formula and diapers you'll be using.
I would go to BRU and check the prices of the formula and diapers you plan on using to get an idea.

For us I would say about $120 a month – Good start RTF formula, $60 a month diapers – Luvs from BJs, $20 a month incidentals (wipes, creams, bottle liners, teething meds etc)

for us (we have a 3 mo old):
diapers: about $70/month (7th generation from amazon)
formula: about $110/month (earths best organic from diapers.com)
you can tack on another $15/ month for vaseline, diaper creme, and tushies wipes

Probably about $110 for powdered formula, and $60 for diapers...not really sure, i've never calculated it per month. Plus we had stuff that was given to us for our shower I'm still going through those bottle liners.

Formula - $40/week for RTF, so $160 for the month.
Diapers - I usually buy the largest pack they have (200-250 ct depending on size and they last me a month) - approx. $45.
Wipes - not sure on this, but I think about $25.
I still have the same 2 things of desitin @ 8 months so I have no clue what that costs.
So, for a month $225 on diapers, wipes and formula

Once my son switched to formula our monthly costs were as follows:
Formula $100: 4 large similac containers from BJs using 4 checks (save $20) and occassionally a store coupon.
Diapers $80: 2 value boxes of pampers at BJs. This may or may not seem like a lot depending on the situation...he was at daycare and they must change him every 2 hours at a minimum. Now I buy on sale and stock up but the average is close to the same if not a little more.
Baby Wipes $15: 1 value box at BJs or Costco (sometimes I would get a coupon)
Diaper Ointment $10: we use it at every diaper change and I usually get good deals at Target so I stock up. Triple paste when he has diaper rash can up the cost but $10 is a good average for us.

formula about 88.00 per month
Diapers about 35.00 per month
I use baby magic ointment on him occasionallly maybe 2.00 every 2 months
wipes maybe 4.00 per month? we buy the big boxes they last forever

Ours were very similar. Except we *technically* paid a little more for formula since DS was on Gentlease and it costs roughly $26/can. But I always used checks, so it was way cheaper than that.
