BTDT moms-flipping during diaper changes-at wits end

Can you please suggest what I can do to keep him from flipping when I'm changing his diaper. He's on his changing pad. I've tried different toys, clean diapers to play with, singing, making funny noises and faces, stern 'NO!' (He laughs at the NO!) !!!! He can wiggle around with the strap on, even though it's pretty darn tight.

I am in so much pain trying to hold him down. I seriously have no idea what to do as I have a few surgeries coming up and there's no way I can keep this up. I've tried putting his diaper on upside down, standing up, etc and I'm just not that proficient. Should I keep trying this?

After this diaper change I put him in his crib so I could compose myself for a few minutes. In that time frame he got hysterical. I figure he was just in a mood. I came back and realized his leg was caught in the crib. I am a horrible mother!!!!!!!!

Please, I beg of you to help me!!!!!!!!

Tyler is doing just the same thing...I have been trying to just wrestle with him to get it on most days. However, if I let him hold his bottle he usually stays put, maybe try that? It is very frustrating!!!

I would love to know what to do - DD not only flips but stands up and tries to climb the sides or the back of our changing table rails. Changing her on the floor or bed is 10000 times worse - I am then chasing her around as she laughs and walks or crawls diaperless around the house I have tried a mobile with bears she can grab, toys, etc. it is horrible.

I think you are doing all you can! DD has just started to roll over while changing so I can only imagine how frustrating that is.

When toys or games (peek a boo) don't work, I just use brut force. The forearm that is closest to the head goes on the chest and I diaper change with the other hand.

Sorry Kell, I know just what you mean...G is all over the place. Usually a diaper works to keep her amused & then at other times she flops around like a fish & then has taken to grabbing at herself too which is real fun when she's dirty & grabbing at it... I try to change my voice & sing silly songs & just occupy her w/ something but most of the time I find myself getting frustrated.

THis would be the best time to introduce the No-No Toy.

This No-no toy is an object under no other circumstances you'd let him play with-ex-remote control, the phone, your cell phone, a hairbrush, the diaper creme, a wipe to chew on. Something he is always diving for, but you never let him have, that's the no no toy. Works like a charm and gives you enough time to change a diaper.

i've even resorted to dvd cases, cd cases, dh's wallet, my wallet.
