BTDT Mom's Ice Skating ?
DS is 4 and just got invited to an ice skating party. The birthday girl is 7.
Can 4 year old ice skate? What do I do with him if he can't?

Do you have double runners for him? My niece and nephew were on the ice very young. We would take a milk crate down to the pond and they would hold on to it and push it around. It helped them to stand up on the skates.
ETA: Is it at a rink? They may have things for younger children.

Re: BTDT Mom's Ice Skating ?
If he hasnt been ice skating, he most likely wont be able to. My son took ice skating lessons and they trained him by hanging on a big plastic barrel turned upside down that he would push. When we would take him him to get practice in at regular open skate hours, the rink would give him one to use then too. Maybe you can call the place and see if they have these or ask them if they have double blades? At the very least you'll know what you're going into...so he has the most fun in the situation. He might end up just wanting to run around and play the video games.

Re: BTDT Mom's Ice Skating ?
My sister just started taking my niece for ice skating lessons and shes doing great, you will be surprised how good kids can be on the ice....
The also give them little shopping carts to hold onto so they dont fall as much!
