BTDT Moms of 2 year olds -- fingers in mouth?

DS just turned 2 and suddenly has started to put his fingers in his mouth and 'hold' them there. He's not sucking on them -- he's literally just holding them in his mouth...

He never sucked his thumb before this, and he hardly ever used a binkie when he was younger...

Has anyone else had this happen? Right now when I ask him to take his fingers out, he does but moments later he puts them back in...I thought maybe it's because he's seeing younger DS (4 mos old, teething) sucking on his fingers or maybe he sees DH (nervous habit of biting his nails) do something similar??

What to do?

Are his two year molars in? Could be picking it up from seeing his brother do it. But I do remember DS doing this a few months ago and I thought it was so strange. We thought maybe he was getting some random teeth we weren't expecting. It lasted a few weeks. We guess he was just exploring.

Thanks -- I'm guessing he's exploring, too, because he's also started picking his nose and smiling.
