btdt moms or anyone really, inductions with no dilation
So right now I'm 40w4d with zero dilation. I chose the later option that my doctors office offered for induction (this coming Wed.) with the hopes that I would dilate some before they needed to administer the cervadil because my doc made it sound like there is alot more of a chance that the cervadil won't work if I'm not already dilated. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with being successfully induced without having any prior dilation?

Re: btdt moms or anyone really, inductions with no dilation
My dr. told me i wasn't dilated at all and one of the residents at the hospital said i was "barely 1cm" dilated. I got the cervadil at night, in the am i was 2-3cm. I got another round of cervadil (for about 4-5hours) and then dr. broke my water and i had DS that night.

Re: btdt moms or anyone really, inductions with no dilation
With ds I had no dilation at 38 weeks when I was induced for medical reasons. They inserted the Cervidel at night. They removed it the next morning at 9am. Then started the Pitocin an hour later at 10am. When they removed the cervidel I was 1cm. The Pitocin caused contractions and dilation. They broke my water and ds was born at 6:25pm. My body was no where near ready to have ds but the induction worked. Good luck

I had a similar experience. I was induced at 41 weeks. The cervadil only helped to soften my cervix - it didn't cause me to dilate at all. They started me on pitocin at 9 am and by 12:30 pm, I was fully dilated and ready to push! Delivery went smoothly.

Re: btdt moms or anyone really, inductions with no dilation
I was induced 12 days past my due date. Not dialated at all.
Cervadil for 12 hours. Still no dialation.
Drs. wanted to do Cervadil another 12 hours. I refused since I was so late and there was zero progress.
I had a c-section.
Baby was almost 10lbs.
