BTDT Moms- Playtex Drop ins and Powdered Formula
Can you use the drop ins with powdered formula? How do you mix it?
I will be formula feeding- and put the drop ins on my registry- but I was thinking about it and I'm not sure that's the best idea (assuming I can and do use powdered formula)
Any advice?

I put water first, than the powder, and stir with a spoon. don't shake!! causes too much gas in baby

I pre-mixed a days worth of formula in a pitcher. At times when i wanted to make individual bottles, I put the drop in in the bottle/holder, put the necessary amount of water first then scooped the powder in and stirred with a baby spoon.

Sure you can. I always put the powder in first then I would use a measuring cup for the water, pour it in, and shake until mixed. Alternatively, you can add the water first because the drop in will expand as you fill it so you can use the measurement on the bottle and then scoop the powder in and shake. Never had a problem. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the drop ins and wouldn't use anything else.
EDIT - You don't really have to worry about shaking the bottle with the drop ins because you're pushing ALL of the air and any bubbles you made right out before feeding. My DD absolutely never had an gas or problems digesting and I shook every single bottle before giving it to her.

I shook it and it never caused gas for any of my kids.

Same here (if you do the powder first your ratio of water could be off). I did shake it but put a mylicon drop in each bottle and it got rid of the bubbles.

Re: BTDT Moms- Playtex Drop ins and Powdered Formula
I always made it in a protein shake shaker, then poured them into the bottles and stored the rest in the fridge. I ended up using playtex ventaire and like them a lot better when going out. Id premeasure the water in the bottle (or just bring a bottle of water) and carry a container thing of formula, just put that in there and shake, plus no warming up since its room temperature water

Re: BTDT Moms- Playtex Drop ins and Powdered Formula
we used them in the begining with abby you put water in first then powder then i mixed with a formula mixer the best 5 bucks i ever spent.
abby didnt do well with the drop ins they cause way too much gas and didnt do well with her refulx so we then switched to dr.browns i wish i would have known about them from the getgo!
