? on carrying formula around-playtex drop in

when you're out with DC, do you make the formula first at home or do you make it as needed? i brought the drop in playtex and it was suggested not to mix the formula in the liner. just wondering how you girls do it without carrying a million bottles with you.

TIA

I always mixed it in the liner with no problems.

I have Cadens bottles down to a science...1 scoop of Regular Formula, 2.5 scoops Gentease Formula, 2 Tablespoons Rice Cereal all go into the liner...I then carry the water with me. When he needs to eat I fill the bottle with water, put on the top, and shake, occassionally poking the bottom to release the powder, once mixed I top of the bottle with water and turn back and forth to incorporate the extra water...It works out perfectly and the measurements are perfect.

Ok, do you mean by having the formula in the liner THEN adding the water because the measurments could be off?

That is the only reason why I could think you shouldn't mix in the liner.

I always do water first, then formula.

i read it somewhere not to mix in the liner but yes, i was afraid the water measurement might be off. now it makes sense - to measure the water first! thanks! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have those powder container things, but I always find it easier to put the powder in the liner and just add water later - when he wanted the bottle.

I have never been that accurate with the measurements - but he has not had any problem! Chat Icon

I don't know how you ladies deal with mixing the formula...I'm sticking to the RTF...I buy the 8 oz. and the 32 oz. bottles.
