BTDT moms tell me the pro's and cons of having DC 2 yrs apart vs. 3 (in school years)

I'm SO torn about this! Obviously it is up to God because I really can't plan this for certain but, god willing, all things being ideal would you shoot to have DC two years apart in school or is 3 yrs no big deal. I'm just toying with whether to have a late 2009 baby (oct, nov) vs. an early 2010 baby - This is such a huge event in our lives and the crazy planner control freak i am is weighing the pros and cons and I am wondering how important of a pro this is. All advice greatly appreciated b/c i am driving myself NUTS over this and am running out of time!

I am sorry that I have no advise, but I could have written this myself! I have talked to a few different people (with kids of course) and most say it's been to have them closer or further apart in age.

Our son is 20 mos old and initially were going to start TTCing this past Nov, but I had just started a new job and we agreed to wait. Now we're thinking of TTCing in the next couple months, making DS just under 3 when baby #2 is born.

I'm confused if we should wait a little longer or not.

Sorry I was no help, but you're not alone on this one.

Do you find that the two that are two years apart are closer and more like friends? Also, does it make it easier on you with respect to sports and activities when they are two years apart? These are just the things I have been told and I am curious to see if they universally apply.

Thanks so much for responding btw!
