BTDT Moms, what is the easiest double stroller to fold in and out of the car?
After moving back to Manhattan because I missed city life so much, I've come to realize that I want to ultimately move back to the suburbs.
I know what double strollers everyone has in Manhattan but I'm wondering what double strollers the mommies in the suburbs have. I was all set to get the phil and ted's but now I'm not so sure.
I want a stroller that is easy to take in and out of the car.
Do most suburban moms have side by side strollers?
We love the convenience of our single city mini but there is no way a double city mini would fit in through most stores in Manhattan.

i have the combi double side by side and I LOVE IT!!!!! in fact this is the second time i have it! it's sooooo easy to fold!!! you fold it by lifting up the little things on the handle and then roll in a circle. comes right up and then it folds in half again!!!!! it's soooo light weight and so easy to throw in the car!!!!

I second this. We have the same one and it's the best thing ever. I needed something VERY lightweight because of a bad back--this stroller is amazing!!!

we have the combi side by side and it fold up easily and is the most compact to fit in the car.
It's a good stroller for what you get and you can get in and out of a standard size door no problem.
I was comparing sooo many of them and if you were looking at the phil and ted's one, you might like the city select with the additional seat for 2. This was our 1st choice and we still would love to get it but it is

The city select is great but it is definately does not fold up compactly. It takes up a lot of cargo space in our SUV.

Someone at our daycare has this for their twins and it's quite impressive (I asked what kind of stroller it was because I was amazed at how easy it unfolded/folded).

Re: BTDT Moms, what is the easiest double stroller to fold in and out of the car?
i adore my bumbleride indie twin. it would make no sense in the city. we were in park slope the other day...it took up much of the sidewalk and wouldn't fit in any store. the stroller folds easily and fairly small, though it is heavy. still, it is a dream to push, super comfy for the kids, and very roomy. I really don't go places where I have a problem with a big side by side double. in park slope everyone had a phil and teds double, but I never see them around Nassau.

I have a maclaren twin techno, it folds up small and is easy to get in and out of the car. I can still fit groceries, etc. in the trunk with the stroller in there. (we have a Jetta).

Are there a lot of city selects used in the suburbs?
We kept going back and forth from the phil and ted's and city select and thought the phil and ted's would be easier. the city select seemed pretty bulky and heavy.

Have you tried out the citi select yet? I was dead set on getting this (or the Britax b-ready... same thing, basically). It was, in theory, exactly what i was looking for. Went to the store the other night to buy it and honestly, did NOT love it at all. I felt like it was SO heavy... even before i put DD in it. Eventhough it's only a few pounds more than the citi mini double, i noticed such a huge difference in the weight, the way it handled... steering it felt like such a chore. I was really let down Researching it a little more, but pretty sure i'm just going to go with the citi mini double.

We've gone back to test out double strollers 3 times! Each time we leave thinking we will just get the phil and ted's but not being 100% totally crazy about it.
The baby stores in Manhattan are so tiny that I didn't even see the combi or indi double strollers that the other mommies suggested. I don't think they carry them at Giggles or Planet Kids (2 stores closest to us).

Another vote for the Combi twin....love it. I researched stroller to no end, I was obsessed lol. Very happy with my choice.

I did the same thing. in and out of the store god knows how many times. picked one out. got it delivered. put it together only to find out it wouldn't fit through our oversized front door.
I've seen alot of the sit and stands used out here alot and i was looking into the one that has the removable back seat until i can trust my 17 months old in the seat part.
I have seen some people with the City Select's and they love the versitility of them.
We ulitmatly picked out the combi because it was the best for the price and the way it foled up compactly(but it still doesn't fit in the back of our SUV with the 3rd row up...i dont think anything will..)
We went on vacation this summer to hershey and dutch wonderland with my 2 month old and 15 month old at the time. The combi was amazing to get through everywhere and i did see more people with the side by side double rather than the front to back one.

I have a Maclaren Twin Triumph. I've used it in the city, but most of the time I use it in LI. No doorway problems! It steers great and is easy to open/close. But, it doesn't have a snack tray.
