I have a few questions for you.

-Did it hurt? Was there any discomfort after the procedure?

-How many weeks were you?

-How long did it take to get the results?

not at all

i forget, i think 16? at the time it felt like an eternity...

-How long did it take to get the results?

i opted for the FISH results which had a turnaround time of 24-48 hours

Did it hurt?

Yes it hurt. It hurt for me because I had a lot of extra skin from a big weight loss and my skin was not as taut as that of other moms.

Was there any discomfort after the procedure?

Not really much more than expected.

How many weeks were you?

17 weeks

How long did it take to get the results?

2 weeks

YES! It hurt like a motherfuccker!! And I think of myself as pretty stoic. My doc wanted me on bedrest for 72 hours and I listened to him. I did have some cramping which was scary but other than that, nothing else.

Normally, amnios are performed in weeks 16-18 (or so I've been told) but there was an abnormality in my Level 2 sono so I got mine right after I received those results. I was 21 weeks.

-How long did it take to get the results?

Since I was so far along already, the doctor requested a FISH result for me which was a preliminary result based on the analysis of only a few chromosomes. I received that result in 3 days. The full results I received in 10 days.

No, it didn't hurt, no discomfort afterwards.

I was 37w4d, I had it done to test for lung maturity. I got the results of the first test a few hours later (borderline) and the results of the second test 24hrs later (lungs were mature). I had my c-section later that day.

Nope, didn't hurt anymore than having blood drawn by an expert. No discomfort for me after. I did have the procedure done on a Wednesday so I could take the requisite 48 hours off (Thurs & Fri) with the weekend thrown in for good measure. It was the only time I got DH to wait on me hand and foot!

16 week, and the results took what seemed like an eternity, but in reality was 10 days.

Was there any discomfort after the procedure?
I had some cramping and i stayed on bedrest for 72 hours like the Dr. told me to.

-How many weeks were you? 17

-How long did it take to get the results?

I got the FISH results in two days and the paper results in 2 weeks. Thankfully the baby was fine!!

Well i had it done two times:
The first did not hurt at all
The second hurt A LOT

about 21 weeks first time
38 weeks second time

-How long did it take to get the results?
The doctor requested a FISH result for me so within 3 days I knew
The second time was to check for lung development so I knew the results the same day

It hurt a little, not bad at all, I was expecting much worse.
The anticipation was the worst part.
I was 16 weeks
I was fine afterwards, I just rested for 48 hours and worried about something being wrong
Got my results in 10 day(they told me 2 weeks)

It hurt a little more than a bee sting.
I was in the hospital already on bed rest.
A little cramping, nothing too bad. Thank Goodness

I was about 30-31 weeks

The Dr. ordered the FISH results for me, so,, 48 hours

I got one done and it didn't hurt, like someone mentioned, it was a pinch like a bee sting. The needle is massive but I didn't watch it going in, so it really wasn't awful. I think the hardest part is having such a full bladder to get it done. Results were in less than 2 weeks but they will tell you 2 weeks to be safe. It really wasn't bad at all IMO.

I think I was about 23 weeks bc I remember my DH & Dr. talking about the upcoming Superbowl.

It did NOT hurt and i was a little crampy but a glass of wine helped me relax, my Dr. actually encouraged the glass of wine

14 weeks

7-14 days

It only hurt a little when the needle went in. There really was no discomfort.
