BTDT Mom's...a question..

So I just posted how I tried not to let what I read bother me but someone posted about labor pains and the BTDT moms have me thinking....

FIrst off I am pregnant with twins and scheduled for a March 5th c-section.....I have been getting gas pains off and on but the last day or 2 I ahve been SO uncomfortable and feel "pressure" in my lower back. I have been having BH but I feel clueless because I've never been in labor before..I am nervous now...maybe it isn't gas pains....Going to call my Dr....
Let me ask the BTDT Moms.....Did you KNOW when labor pains started? or were there a lot of you who assumed it was gas or something else also?? THANK YOU!

I was induced but let me tell you....when "real" labor starts you will know.

For me they always start out slow and irregular and I often question it for the first few hours. After that the pain becomes very intense. I never had back labor only in my belly/hips/legs.

Both times I knew it was labor...I basically started out having regular contractions 4-5 minutes apart from the get-go...they were consistent and uncomfortable from when they started.

trust me, you will know the difference between gas pains or a contraction, i knew without a doubt thats what it was when i went into labor with dd

I don't know how else to describe it - but my OB's always said you will KNOW the difference between BH, gas and real contractions. They were right - I had a lot of false labor and excessive BH but when I went into labor there was NO way I could mistake it - they are painful.

i had false contractions every 2-5 minutes from 25 weeks on. there were several different "kinds" - some just felt like tightening, some felt like AF cramps, and others felt like gas/poop pains. they really ran the gamut.

but let me tell ya - when labor hit there was absolutely no mistaking it. even my very first contraction, which wasn't near the intensity of the rest of them, was unmistakable. there is no other feeling like it - and you will KNOW.

having said that, as hard as it is, please try not to freak about labor. yes, it's painful, but you will get through it if it happens before your section. most all women go through it, and most of us come back to have another (myself included!). the gift at the end will be worth it

Everyone kept telling me that I would know too..but I was having Braxton Hicks with a lot of back pain, so I kept thinking that was labor.

Now, having been thru it, I see what they mean when they say you will know lol. GL

with my first, they started out as gas pains...then they gave me putocin and broke my water at the same time, and within seconds 'i think i was having really really bad and strong contractions..they were"rolling" into one another as the nurse described them...

the with my second my water broke, I had very small totally bearable, short contractions....my dr checked me and said I was 6-7 cm and if I wanted the epi, I had to get it right then....I really didnt want it because I wasn't in any pain, BUT I also was scared of what pain 8, 9 and 10 cm could bring, so I did get it.

If I were you, I would call my dr just to be sure. You just NEVER know. And it doesn't hurt to go in and get checked

JUST CALLED BACK THE OFFICE AND THEY SAID I CAN JUST KEEP MY WEDNESDAY APPOINTMENT UNLESS I START TO FEEL CONSISTENT PAIN. FOR THE TIME BEING I CAN RELAX(YEAAA RIIIGHT!) JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP AND INPUT...I AM SURE I WILL ASK 1000 MORE ?'S BUT FOR RIGHT NOW AT LEAST I FEEL LIKE ITS ONLY GAS PAINS OR BLOATING....
