BTDT moms...winter coats
I have a 6 month old and i am not sure what to do about a winter coat. How much do they really wear it? They basically go from the house to the car and i have a Bundle Me. Can i just use that?
All the jackets i like are 12 month size and are way to big...he'll grow into it but i can't imagine buying multiple size jackets. Is that what i should be doing?
TIA!

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
I don't know what the bundle me is, but, I got a one piece, heavy, fleece hooded/zippered thing from Old Navy online. It is warm enough to transport her from the house to the car, etc., & it is not confining so she will be comfortable in the car seat with it.
I just remember my nephews & nieces all bundled up in these winter coats & they looked like they were so confined.
Here's a picture of what I have:

I really like the GAP warmest coats. For me, the removable hood is key.

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
If he is still in the infant seat I would put a heavy sweater coat and then a blanket and zipper the bundle me over that. That's what I did with my DD. I would get a heavy coat just in case he out grows the infant seat and it is still very cold.

So then should i get him a 12 month sized coat? That would probably work. I think he is going to be out of the infant seat soon!

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
Honestly last year I only put her in the bundle me. I didn't use a coat - maybe a sweater and a hat, but the bundle me is warm!! It was sooooo easy, I WISH she was still in the infant seat so I could use that again!

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
DD hated the bundle me and they go from the warm car to the warm house or to the warm store, so i bought a fleece jacket for DD to wear and i would throw a blanket on her in the carrier. When she moved into the reg carseat, i did the same but left the blanket in the car.
They do have a winter coat and prams to wear when they don't go in the car.
I always feel bad for those overbundled babies in jackets, blankets and bundle me's in the stores. They make me sweat just looking at them

I would just unzip the bundle me when I was in a store, house or warm car. The entire top of it comes down so dc won't overheat.

Thank goodness you do I've seen so many mommies up here that don't and the poor baby's face is all red and sweated. One mommy actually looked at the poor bundled up, completely sweating baby complete with a hat and said boy you are cranky today! Yeah, really mommy, it's 80 degrees in the mall and you have me dressed like it's the artic circle!
I have a bundle me, i'm going to try again for DD#2, but i think with the both of them, the jacket/blanket thing is going to be easier for me at least.

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
I did like most - just a sweater, hat and blanket.
I got a cute leather bomber jacket at my shower, but it was so hard to get on and then to get him the carseat was even harder
I'll do the same for this baby

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
The sample sale going ending today has snowsuits for babies at $5 each.. they were all very good quality brand names, like Carter's. There was a ton left yesterday, not sure about today.

Re: BTDT moms...winter coats
Last winter I just wrapped him up well when we went out. I bought one of those little suits but rarely used it. I also used the wrap that goes over the carseat a lot.
This year I did of course buy him a jacket
