BTDT Neocate moms
Hi - I have a question for you who had their children on Neocate formula. WHen did you try giving them food like yogurt and pasta? I am afraid to give Ella anything but baby food and puffs since she could not tolerate the milked based and soy based formula.
Also what did you transition them to once they were a year old? Milk/Soy milk? Did you get them tested for allergies before hand?
thanks

Re: BTDT Neocate moms
Andy was tested for food allergies at 10 months. So we know he is severely allergic to milk. He transitioned to soy milk. I've given him only foods that are dairy free. We will go back in May to be tested again to see if he outgrew it. *Fingers crossed*
Many pastas are dairy free. Right now I have Barilla & Ronzoni, both of which are dairy free.
If you want a list of ingredients to avoid, click this link It was overwhelming at first, but reading labels is now second nature to me. I rarely even have to refer to this list any more.

thanks so much - I am actually taking my son back to the allergist on Thursday and see if I can make an appointment for Ella to be tested.

Re: BTDT Neocate moms
My 7 month old is on Neocate still and like you i'm so worried to give her anything. She tolerates her baby food no problem, but she's not on any cereal.
my doc refuses to test her for allergies since he says babies grow out of them so quickly, she would test positive for most things now, but not at 1 years old-basically told me it would be alarming me for nothing. Not quite sure how i feel about that yet, but i give him the benefit of the doubt.
Sooo, I've given her little bit of yogurt, no reaction so far.
We were told to stay away from high allergen foods-wheat products, barley, nuts, citrus, strawberries.
