Bulk head seating for international flight?
So I did a search for traveling and saw that some suggested not getting bulk head seating. Now, for those that have flown internationally and it is a 8+ hour flight, what do you think is a better idea?

What's the reasoning given? Honestly, ESPECIALLY with a child, I think bulkhead seating IS best. There is more room for "stuff" and when the seatbelt sign if off, the ids can get on the floor and stretch out.
The only downside I can think of are: No place to put your smaller bags since there is no seat in front of you. This means everything you have must go in the overhead bin.

Bulk head seating is okay, its sort of six of one, half dozen of another. Bulk head seating can be good becuase your kids can play on the bit of floor, but if the flight is empty enough, I would prefer an extra seat in the middle. Especially with a toddler.

Re: Bulk head seating for international flight?
I'm not a fan of bulk head seating BUT it is a mixed bag - great if the flight isn't too bumpy so that the kids can move around easily - BUT if it is bumpy they might have the seat belt sign on then you can't walk around anyway. If the flight is really crowded the overhead bins might be full and you lose out on the under seat space you could use for the kids seats (so you get leg room).

Re: Bulk head seating for international flight?
I've traveled internationally with my DS a few times (longest flight 5 hours though)...Just keep in mind, occasionaly the bulk head seating is also an emergency exit, in which case- you can't be seated there with DC...But if its not, I'd go for it, why not

Re: Bulk head seating for international flight?
Personally I would not want to sit there because on a few flights I've been on the seatbelt light has been on for much of the flight. I need to get stuff from the diaper bag all through the flight and like having it right in front of me to have easy access to snacks, sippy cups, books, toys, DVD player. If the bag was up above in the overhead compartment and I can't get up to get it, I would be in big trouble.
